Very quick post ... and hopefully I can add more another night.

Today was day two, demo day at the Torpedo Factory. Lots of fun with lots of visitors. Thanks for coming!

Three days left there in Studio #333: Monday, Thursday and Friday. Then it's back to the Artists' Atelier, 1144 Walker Road, Suite G, Great Falls, VA. I hope to see you there!

Thanks, Mom ... again for your stellar job of welcoming folks into the studio.

"Michelle I" Still Progressing...

Here's an update on a painting I did as practice before my public demo as part of my "On the Bright Side" exhibit at the Great Falls Library (9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA; on exhibit through August 31) ... of my son Sam's girlfriend, Michelle Anonick. I still want to work on some of my edges and her ears, hair, expression a bit, but I'll let it dry for four days before doing any more work on it. That way, the progress made to date won't be lost. (If I don't think it's improving, I can "erase" the new day's work.)

Sam's happy with it (again). Yea!

Teaching at Loudoun Academy of the Arts

Tonight I taught my first class at Loudoun Academy of the Arts, a six-week class (plus I will be teaching an eight-week class through the Great Falls School of Art starting September 23) in drawing and painting the portrait. The class is on Tuesday nights, 6:30-9:30. The first day I did a demo for about three hours. It really seems like it will be a great class.
This is my demo painting of "Joanie", 20"h x 16"w, oil on Senso canvas. Still, a blurry photo -- I'll replace it with a better one soon. That's the result of no tripod and trying to take a photo at night.
