West Texas Bound

"Goat Lunch," oil, 12"h x 16", ©2016 Jill Banks. This is what I was painting today in preparation for En Plein Air Texas.
On Monday, I was invited to join 34 other juried artists in the En Plein Air Texas painting competition taking place in San Angelo, Texas on October 23-30, 2016. Only in its third year, the competition sponsored by the community and the San Angelo Museum of Art has already garnered a lot of attention in the plein air painting world -- with big sales dollars, big names (top artists) and big West Texas welcomes.

Curious goat. Was grabbing everything potentially chewable.
We'll be painting on private ranches, in town, along the river and more. Goats, sheep, farm equipment paintings ahead.

I'm really thrilled to be a part of it!
