"Horsepower" Officially Finished

And my exhibit postcards are in! Wow! They look terrific. Modern Postcard printed them and I think this batch is the very best.

Assuming I make it through the next three or four intense days, they will be heading to some of your mailboxes.  If you'd like to make sure you get one, please email me your snail mail address.

Today I went over to the Great Falls Library to measure the walls.  Even with just two days to go, I'm struggling with which pieces to hang. As difficult as it is to pack everything up, it would be most helpful to have a solid idea of what would fit, look best, make the most interesting exhibit.  Perhaps gazing into a crystal ball will help.

"Horsepower," hopefully, will be part of the exhibit.  I'll let you know on Friday night the official list.

My solo show, "Serendipity," will be on exhibit at the Great Falls Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA from July 1 to August 31. The opening reception is Saturday, July 20, 1 to 4pm.

Equine Day... Painting a Horse

Waking up this morning, I wasn't sure exactly what to paint. That's a bit strange for me ... usually there are a lot of pieces in progress, still lifes needing attention before they rot away, etc. The last week though, I finished  up pieces so it was time for a fresh start. 

One of the favorite pieces painted last year was "Stepping Out" -- of two Belgian workhorses.  "Stepping Out" has a new home and a lot of people -- including me -- miss it.  This start for "Horsepower" has a chance to fill the hole that painting left when it went out the studio doors. Wait until I get to the mane.  It looks just right for a Pantene commercial -- flowing in the wind.

Can't wait to see it emerge.

Artists' Atelier Animal Art Exhibit at Seneca Hill Animal Hospital and Spa

Stop by the Seneca Hill Animal Hospital and Spa at Georgetown Pike (Route 193) and Seneca Road before the Artists' Atelier Exhibit comes down on August 4. There are some terrific pieces in the show -- by all the artists in the studio. Mine is of a cat I saw in Murano -- near Venice. So, the show has an international flavor!
